When you get a cool overcast morning in the late summer it’s time to hit the lake! I headed out early to practice on some Forward Facing Sonar and a couple of techniques I wanted to get better with.
There was a cool breeze out of the southeast when I arrived. A boat came by and caught a nice largemouth just in front of the ramp I was using. They were one of two watercraft on the lake with the other being a kayak angler.
I threw a small bluegill swimbait for awhile with no bites. After an hour or so I decided to go with my bread and butter, the Neko Rig. It wasn’t long before I hooked into a smaller bass on a submerged secondary point.
